freelance photography
After having lived in Tampa for about ten years I have come to love a lot of things about calling this Florida city home. One of my favorites things about this place is the restaurants and local business that are popping up. I recently realized that since starting to work full-time I hadn’t practiced some of my old skills that I used to love as frequently. I generally use my camera on vacation or just casually but that was more so a hobby.
So with this in mind I set out to not only pick up some old skills but also to find a way to get involved with some local businesses. Seventh Avenue Apothecary stood out to me as a great prospect for a few reasons. They are a women run business and have built a candle empire with scents inspired by their roots here in Tampa. I reached out to Jessica, the co-owner and offered to do some freelancing for them. She was really happy I reached out as they were in need of some lifestyle photography. I have found that I can be resourceful in creative ways setting up some of these shots. Some do take planning but for the most part I’ve kept my mind open while shooting and just let the shots come together! It’s been a great way to get some experience in lifestyle photography, especially now that it has become a key marketing tool for a lot of businesses.
I use Lightroom & photoshop to edit all my photos.
